Forag.in was a side project. The idea being that users of the forag.in website would contribute to and find foraging locations on a map of the UK.
I wanted the logo to feel fun, natural and botanical so I created a unique typeface.
The lettering was gradually worked up by hand to give the type a rustic and authentic handmade feel.

I developed a series of illustrations of commonly foraged items such as mushrooms, chestnuts and rosehips.
After a fair amount of time developing this project, I decided to abandon it due to ethical reasons. Making foraging locations widely known could mean that large numbers of people trampling areas of countryside stripping it of forgeable food, which is needed to feed wildlife. Not wanting to be responsible for this, I decided to keep the project as a portfolio piece.
